On today's edition of PTIB Jimmy DeYoung talks with Ken Timmerman, who is Europe, about geo-political events happening right now. THE CHARACTER OF TISCHENDORF Chris discusses the historic character of 19th century German scholar, Constantine von Tischendorf, in response to a critical review by Dr. James White of Alpha & Omega Ministries. Dr. White has voiced a number of objections to the portrayal of Tischendorf in our film, "Tares Among the Wheat." But are his objections based on true scholarship? Among his complaints is that the film is not like "CNN reporting," that we failed to include White's favorite quotes, and that some of the music sounded "spooky" to him. Yet, interestingly, he was unable to point to any specific fact or historic data that was inaccurate.
Ted believes that if you give every religion equal liberties, a competition takes place and no matter what you do, one ideology will have to become dominant, even if the government doesn't get involved. The result is that Islam is competing for dominance in the West as both a religion and a political ideology as it seeks to infiltrate the politics and the infrastructure of the nations.
The Blessings of Justification | Romans 5:1-5 | Part 1 We arrive at Romans chapter 5 today, and the blessing of justification that comes only from God. Dr. White has been sharing with us that we cant earn our salvation; we are justified by faith alone in the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. The gravity of this simple truth probably escapes us most of the time, because once we put our trust in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus and are justified, we still try to measure up in some way to the expectations of others in church, or to the expectations we imagine God has for us to be righteous enough for Him to accept us.
Part Four: Gods intention is for us to use our money for a high purpose: to make wise investments that survive our earthly journey. These messages are intended to help us understand what God thinks of money and how He uses it to test our loyalties. This is not a plea for giving, but rather a way to change our view of money so that we can invest in what really matters.
Topic: Rush Limbaugh says the message of the Pope is pure Marxism. Rush seems shocked the Church of Rome is involved in Marxism/communism and even states that what the Pope said would have been unthinkable a few years ago. Rush is wrong, in fact a few years ago the Pope Benedict was saying the same things and even worse. Why are so many talk show hosts like Rush so ignorant about the Church of Rome? Topic: Pope Francis, jihad and Moscows Espionage Church. Topic: Muslim prayer rooms are the new thing at Christian and Catholic colleges. Topic: We take your calls.
Engaging Keller: Tim Keller is the topic of todays NoCo. Pastor Mike reviews a book by Iain D. Campbell and William M. Schweitzer titled Engaging with Keller: Thinking Through the Theology of an Influential Evangelical. Listen in as Pastor Mike goes through the book in order to explain why Campbell and Schweitzer critique Kellers theology.
On today's edition of PTIB Jimmy DeYoung talks with Dave Dolan who will give us a Middle East News Up-date which will cover the latest news out of the mMiddle East. They will discuss how the Jewish people fill endangered because of the Geneva Iranian deal as it relates to their nuclear program that is preparing a nuclear WMD. They will also speak about the restrictions for the Jewish people who want to ascend the Temple Mount during this Hanukkah season.
On today's show David talked with Jim Schneider about the ramifications of the recent deal between the U.S. and Iran. The deal states that there will be an easing of sanctions against Iran in return for Iran suspending certain parts of its nuclear bomb program. Rubin says that this is a bad deal for Israel, stating that according to the deal, Iran can still enrich up to 20% of their uranium, which can be used to make nuclear bomb.
Part Three: Gods intention is for us to use our money for a high purpose: to make wise investments that survive our earthly journey. These messages are intended to help us understand what God thinks of money and how He uses it to test our loyalties. This is not a plea for giving, but rather a way to change our view of money so that we can invest in what really matters.
Father Abraham | Romans 4:9-25 | Part 2 Romans chapter 4 tells us that the Law of God also brings with it the wrath the God for those who do not obey it perfectly. This is the reason that obedience of the Law is no longer the basis for righteousness. Faith is. And arent you glad about that?
Desmond in a Tutu: Desmond Tutu recently said I would refuse to go to a homophobic heaven. No, I would say sorry, I mean I would much rather go to the other place. The Bible is clear that those who practice homosexuality will not go to Heaven (1 Corinthians 6:9). If that describes you, please know that God can forgive any sin. You must repent of your sin and place your faith in Christ alone to save you.
Today we have a "Special Edition" of PTIB with Jimmy DeYoung and Steve Herzig having a conversation on the subject of the Jewish "holy-day of Hanukka". They will discuss Hanukka and Thanksgiving coming at the same time of the year and it won't happen agaain for 70,000years. they also will talk about the history of Hanukka and Hanukka today can be used by each of us to try and lead our Jewish friends to the true Messiah, Jesus Christ.
CONTENDING FOR THE FAITH Chris discusses the Epistle of Jude and our admonition to earnestly contend for the faith. But what exactly does this mean in our time? Is it simply preaching the Gospel? Or does the Gospel message also need to be defended against error, and those who would threaten it with false doctrine? When Jude describes certain men who were "crept in unawares" -- what did he mean? Was he referring to men who were misguided? Or to those who deliberately sought to undermine the faith of Christ?
On this edition of Crosstalk, Jim Schneider talked with Colin about the Knockout Game, a "game" where someone randomly punches a person for fun with the goal of knocking that person out. According to Colin, most of the attackers are black and the majority of victims are white and he gives documented examples to prove that point. Colin also says that this Knockout Game trend is being ignored by the media, as well as, local government and community leaders who often label the incidents as a fight or make it seem that the victim started the confrontation.
Father Abraham | Romans 4:9-25 | Part 1 Over the next two broadcasts, Dr. White will explain why we know that salvation is offered not just to the Jew but to the non-Jew, to the Gentiles. It all hinges on the relationship with the Almighty of the man known as Father Abraham, who was promised by God to become the father of many nations the physical father of peoples on the earth, certainly; but Abraham is also is the spiritual father for those who believe.
